Using American Canoe Association (ACA) standards, First Coast Outfitters offers the most progressive beginner kayak instruction available in Jacksonville. Our Beginner Kayak Instruction classes establish the foundation that all paddlers need on open and protected waters. NO experience necessary—just a budding passion for paddling! Learn basic kayak maneuvers, strokes and water safety skills necessary to become a skilled and confident kayaker by taking our following novice courses:

  We will be paddling out to the historic and beautiful Kingsley Plantation, where we will spend some time exploring the property, and learning about all the rich history our North Florida region has to offer! We will be up close and personal with the old tabby slave homes, as well as a tour of the Planation Home.

All three days of the course (April 5th-7th) will start at the First Coast Outfitters Shop in Jacksonville Beach, where we will plan out safety procedures, and learn about the different skills course locations we will be working in. All students should be prepared for a rigorous 3 days of training. Cost: $175 for all three days or $75 a day w/ Sea Kayak "kit" included.
