Ft. George River Lost Paradise Tour
Description
Ft. George River has one of the most diverse eco systems around! Here there is everything from turquoise water and beautiful white sand bars to salt marsh creeks and spoil islands. We will paddle through the Timucuan Preserve estuary with thousands of acres of tributaries that wind through the marsh, creating what looks like the arteries of the land. As the water twists and turns, it creates intimate canals for the resident wading birds and fishing osprey, providing protection for newly hatched fingerlings. This fascinating environment is the lifeblood of the ocean and the nursery ground for most of the life in the sea. Along the tour we will stop to snack and swim on one of the many beautiful shallow sand bars.
