Kayaking 103
Kayak Rolling indoor pool or outdoors in the elements
Our rolling clinic is perfect for the non-rolling kayaker or for those looking to brush up on their rolling skills. This course is great for those with some prior experience. Participants must have some formal kayak instruction, including strong bracing skills. To enhance your enjoyment, bring your nose plugs, or bring a snorkeling mask! We offer an indoor swimming pool at the University of North Florida Aquatic Center for our lessons, or we can take the session outside in to the elements!

Crossings, Rescues, and Wind
Kayaking 103 introduces more advanced boat handling skills in moderate conditions with wind and current. This full day course is a must for any paddler looking to become competent in on-water navigation including the use of nautical charts as well as preforming rescues in conditions. Kayaking 103 builds upon stroke technique to maneuver through choppy inlet waterways and includes an open water crossing. High braces and towing techniques are also covered. Kayak 101 and 102 or equivalent experience is a prerequisite for this course unless you have explicit permission from the instructor. This course can be paired with Kayaking 102 for those looking to get their learning on the fast track during a single weekend.

Ocean Surfing
Are you looking to expand your kayak surfing skills into moving water? Then this is the ideal course for you! This course introduces you to safely paddling in the surf zone. Leaving the protected waters behind, we’ll cover surf landings, wave formation and breaking surf as well as surf zone etiquette and safety in this full day course. Using mid or full size sea kayaks, we’ll show you the thrill of catching a sweet one and riding it in!
A confident wet exit and Kayaking 101 or 102 is a prerequisite for this course
